from Past Seasons
Last
season's troupe came to DD&T from Canada, Mexico, Trinidad,
Nepal, Germany, Togo (West Africa), and from throughout
coasts of the United States. After an intensive 6 weeks
of training and rehearsal, they are now on the road for
the fall performing season.
Annual Spring Show!
On June 17th and 18th, 1999, DDW gave its Annual Show
at On the Boards (a wonderful space dedicated to contemporary
performing arts) in Seattle. This enhanced version of
the troupe performance included a narrative line running
through several existing as well as new works, a guest
appearance by African drummer Kofi Anang, sculptured
set pieces by Steve Jensen, and special awards presented
to Phil Welt, outgoing Chairman of the Board, and Craig
Williams, outgoing Artistic Director.
East Coast Tour!

DD&T
finished up of 1998-1999 season with a bang. Recent
highlights include a wildly successful tour of Florida,
an exhilarating trip to DC, and the conclusion of the
season with the Annual Show in Seattle. Our trip to
Florida included a great combination of work and play.
We performed for thousands of high school students with
about ten performances in a week. During down time our
troupe members had the opportunity to enjoy the beaches
and sunny weather (a welcome change from Seattle)!
The
troupe then traveled directly from Florida to Washington,
DC. The troupe performed on the steps of the Capitol building
and at the City Year annual convention. Most emotional
of all, however, was a performance (in 95 degree heat)
on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial where Dr. Martin
Luther King gave his I have a Dream... speech. |
